The information on this page explains how I look after and use any information you give me as a visitor to my website or when you ask about my services. It also explains your privacy rights.
As a sole trader, I (Ruth Clowes) am the Data Controller and am registered as such with the Information Commissioner’s Office. The lawful basis under which I process your personal data is article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR.
Why I collect your information
There are two main reasons I collect and use information about you:
- To respond to an enquiry you’ve made about my copywriting or training services
- To track the effectiveness of my website and other marketing activities
How I collect and process your information
The contact details I collect, store and use come from our conversations, emails, texts, phone calls and your use of my website.
I only use this information to respond to your specific enquiry and fulfil any contract of services we agree to. I’ll never pass your contact details on to anyone else and I’ll never use them for any other purpose.
I store your details electronically. I use password-protected devices and services to keep them secure.
My website has a valid SSL certificate. This is shown by the closed padlock to the left of the address bar on your browser. It means that when you enter your contact details on the site, there’s a secure connection between your computer and my website.
Analytics and cookies
Where possible, I register as an affiliate for the resources I use and recommend. Some of the links I share on this website are affiliate links. If you click on one of them, then you buy something, I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. I only ever recommend products and services I know and trust.
Buying something using one of these links will never cost you more than buying the item directly from the same site. In some cases, you may even save money or get an extended free trial or other bonus I’ve negotiated.
Just because I love a product or service, doesn’t mean it’s also right for you. Please look after your own interests – make sure the product or service is suitable for your needs, do additional research if needed and make sure you read and understand the terms and conditions attached to the product or service before you commit.
Your privacy rights
You have rights in relation to the data I’ve collected about you. For example, you have a right to receive a copy of the data I hold and you have the right to ask me to remove data from my records. Find out more about your rights in relation to your personal data.
